Lyrics

Verse 1 When the days grow thin and the road feels long And the answers don’t come easy There’s a fire still burning in the questions we ask And it keeps the heart from freezing Chorus So keep learning, keep turning Like a wheel that won’t stand still There’s a world inside the wondering And a truth you never will Outgrow or outrun Till your last breath is done Keep learning Verse 2 You can fill your hands with certainty Or leave them open wide But the ones who keep on reaching out Are the ones still alive Chorus So keep learning, keep turning Like a wheel that won’t stand still There’s a world inside the wondering And a truth you never will Outgrow or outrun Till your last breath is done Keep learning

Song story & origins

Talking about teachers and mentors led Mark to something he’d been doing most of his life: listening to people much younger and much older than himself. He was still interested in what they thought, though he joked that the supply of people older than him was getting smaller. Scott had his own stories about what learning had given him. This song gathered up that willingness to stay curious. There’s always somebody with something to tell you, and always a little more world to get acquainted with.
