A Blessing
The prayer of the mind
bleeds like sap from the
heart
of this pine, touched
once by the prayer
of the hand, One paw, the claws sharp
without malice.
Old scars run deep
weeping with life
and I am quiet here listening
breathing…
seeking wisdom,
Sophia…
did she pass?
Light comes, sudden
as a breath stopped short,
a voice, an open mouth
hungry and urgent
we must move, discover
the visitor within…
the mystic, the child,
the dog with his jangling
collar…
Idea forms,
but not idea exactly…
rather an irresistible urge held quiet,
so quiet. Solitude.
