Grandma Simpson's Poem
And she said,
Collards collards collards
green beans 'n' sweet-potatoes
sugar-sugar-sugar
I love you sugar
buttermilk 'n' cornbread
Lyndal Lyndal Lyndal
your grandbabies are here
down in Magnolia's
near where Papa
growed up
carry me on down
to where Papa growed up
with a bushel 'n' a peck 'n' a hug
aroun the neck
y'all come on over
come on over
M-m-m-m (smack) M-m-m-m (smack)
Merry Christmas
Merry, merry Christmas
come on in here
You want a stick-a-gum honey?
Tonight, we havin' fried okra.
