Don’t Be a Chill Host

Don’t let your best self
run this party.
Let the real one in—
the one whose voice wavers,
whose casserole burned,
whose breath caught when the
neighbor’s kid mentioned
loneliness.
We’re not here for
clever napkins. We’re here
for something that doesn’t look
like success but feels
like welcome.
