The Monk in You
Who have you touched today
with your eyes? Not just seen,
but really witnessed: that colleague
across the hall who jokes
too much when he’s hurting,
that student who always
looks fine and never
really is.
You don’t need incense
or robes or a philosophy degree
to be the one
who leans in,
who offers a moment
of stillness.
Sometimes a nod
is enough to say:
I see your burden.
I do not turn away.
