You Fit Into Me
Like a fishhook, like a trap
disguised as love. You fit into me—
not the way a story fits a child’s
ear, but the way pain coils into quiet.
I trusted you, and now the wind
makes me flinch. It wasn’t just
what you did. It’s what kind of person
does that?
And I keep asking—
what kind of person
stays?
