Making Monopoly
Below the plane, the houses make Monopoly
boards, di coming up blank
And in Vegas, a dollar's a dime a dozen
and so is the drink in your hand and her thin smile
Ronald bends red lips to the child,
his shoes like trestle girders below her
At lunchbreak, the foreman barks a warning
that hits the distant pavement long after the bricks
Mona Lisa grins from a wall in The Louvre
like a sheepish young girl from the suburbs.
