Missing the Meditation
The retreat agenda told me
emphatically, Meditation at 9:15
in the conference center…
and the map reminded me
of the walk—
my jacket already wet
from the last hike…
and then the rain…
ah, the rain whispered
stay, just stay here
listen to what I am telling
the shingles
close your eyes
listen…
so I missed the meditation.
