Sleep Tight
Now’s the time to close your eyes
So kiss the ones you love goodnight
Stars will sprinkle you with soft, gentle light, oh, ooh mmm...
I’ll keep you safe and warm, sleep tight...
Tonight...
I’ll Keep you safe and warm tonight.
Little heads are full of dreams
Things to do and things to practice, so it seems
The world is resting now—mountains, trees and streams, oh, ooh mmm...
The moon will smile, the sun will wake us with his beams...
His beams...
The sun will wake us from these dreams.
These dreams...
Sweet dreams...
These dreams...
Sweet dreams...
Now’s the time to close your eyes
You’ve kissed the ones you love goodnight
The stars will sprinkle you with soft, gentle light, oh, ooh mmm...
I’ll keep you safe and warm, sleep tight...
Tonight...
I’ll keep you safe and warm tonight— sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe and warm tonight— sleep tight
I’ll keep you safe and warm tonight—
sleep tight.
I’ll keep you safe and warm tonight—
sleep tight
We knew we wanted to end our first Nanapapa album with a lullaby. Sleep Tight reminds us that the whole world needs to sleep. Everything moves through cycles that both repeat and change. Not every night is the same, but night always comes. Not every day is identical, but the day always comes.
What's important is to know that we are safe and protected and loved-- no matter what happens in any given day or night. Also, our night dreams are times when we learn and practice the things we need for the day. We love having sweet dreams-- about how things can go very well. But not all dreams are sweet; some are scary. If I know I'm loved and safe, even the scary dreams can become a way I learn how to face and deal with very real fears that we all have at times.
